#sharkmaineEats Goes to MAKATI!

Aaaaaand we're back! After my on-off relationship with blogging, I think I am back for good this time (and I hope I stick to it!).
I'll keep it simple (as days are really busy for me) but my posts will be loaded with photos for sure. A Visual Blog might best describe what sharkmaine.com aims to be from now on. But I hope you enjoy it all the same! :)

What I've been up to since 2015 started? EATING. >__< It is both a good thing and a bad thing. Good because ALL. THAT. FOOD. And bad because ALL. THAT. FAT. Haha! Well, let me take you to my foodtrips around the Metro and let's start in MAKATI!

Lots of new places have sprouted in Makati and my to-visit restaurant list is ever growing, so me and the boy decided to tick some off it one weekend in January.

Let me start with this heavenly taco place in Algier St.

TACO CHINGONES -- BEST TACOS. EVER.

An admission: I am not a big fan of tacos -- because hey, I am the extra rice girl. No rice, no love. D: Well, that is until I tasted their heavenly tacos. I fell in love. HARD. I may have heard a Mariachi playing in my head while eating it. That and I downed a total of 5 tacos and half gringas that night.

Four-inch tortillas filled with tasty goodness. Flavor-packed meat and the spices are on point. What can I say... I fell in love!

Where to find TACOS CHINGONES? TC is located in Algier Street, Poblacion. If you're familiar with Som's, it is right beside it. *check out MAP at the bottom of this post

What can I eat at TC? Their MENU (as of early February):

Tacos - Php50.00
Gringas - Php100.00

You can choose from: BARBACOA (braised beef w/ adobo sauce); CARNE MOLIDA CON PAPAS (ground beef w/ potato); CARNITAS (fried pork); LENGUA (ox-tongue wi/ birria sauce); CHORIZO (Mexican chorizo w/ spices); ALPASTOR (pork infused w/ pineapple); and BISTEK (marinated beef sirloin).

My favorite is CARNITAS and BARBACOA. I am yet to try the Lengua and Chorizo! Next time!

What time are they OPEN? They are open from 5PM onwards (usually until 2AM).

How much should I bring? Tacos are at 50 and drinks (canned sodas) are at 50 as well. You can do the math depending on how many tacos or gringas you are planning to gobble up. I spent around Ph350 on my first visit, but that's me! I eat *ALOT*. Haha!

SALT MAKATI

Next up is SALT! Loved this place because of their baked salmon at an affordable price. Salmon was fresh and the slab was enough for me to order an extra rice. They also have cheap t-bone steak but it was just okay considering the price.

Where to find SALT? It is located in 5887 Fermina corner Enriquez street, Poblacion Makati. It is a few blocks away from Taco Chingones. :D
It is tucked in a small residential area so patience, my Padawan.

What can I eat at SALT? They have a pretty simple menu but packed with some good stuff!

MAIN COURSE
T-Bone Steak - Php190
Beef Salpicao - Php220
Country Fried Chicken - Php180
Grilled Cajun Chicken - Php180
Grilled Tuna - Php220
Baked Salmon - Php320
The Burger - Php220
Caesar Salad - Php150

DESSERT
Frozen Brazo de Mercedes - Php 110 (we loved this one!)
Moist Chocolate Cake - Php120
Tartufo Ball - Php130

DRINKS
Soda - Php40
Bottled Water - Php30

What time are they OPEN? They are open from Tuesday to Sunday, 11AM to 1AM.

How much should I bring? Bring at least 200-250 per person.

Do they have a Facebook page? YEP. https://www.facebook.com/SALTMakati

Check out why we love MINSOK! It's in the same neighborhood as TC and SALT!
