baluarte3
Welcome to Jurassic Park este Baluarte pala. :D

Baluarte is 80 hectares of gently rolling terrains, hills and mountain sides, the structures of facilities and amenities, its phases of construction is in its best possible realistic and natural habitat for good and sound animal care. - source.

Dito ata ako pinaka-excited pumunta. Haha!

Zoos are my favorite, especially petting zoos. And Baluarte is a whole lot of fun. I can see this place improve in the next coming years. And more animals please!

baluarte1
My Little Pony Miniature Horse.
Entrance to Baluarte is free of charge (Yay!) but of course, donations are appreciated. You will be greeted by birds and miniature horses and maybe an ostrich!

Interacting with the pets is my favorite part of the zoo. Kids and kids at heart (a/k/a me) will enjoy Baluarte because of this.

baluarte4
An alpaca!

baluarte5
White Deer.

baluarte6
These geese owns the place like a boss. :D

baluarte7

And did I mention ostriches just wander around the area? Fact. And I was even surprised by one. Haha! I was walking aimlessly then suddenly an ostrich popped up out of nowhere. It was a scary thought that he might attack me though.

baluarte8

I felt like a 7-year old on her first trip to the zoo. :D

And then it was announced that there will be an animal show -- just imagine my joy upon hearing it. The first time I experienced an animal show was during our trip to Zoobic Safari and I truly regret that I didn't volunteer :( but I made sure this time that I'll give it a go.

baluarte12

I was hoping to get the Bearcat -- but tadaaaaah!! I got a reptile. Haha! A huge Iguana. Honestly, I am not a fan. I think they are slimy, scale and just plain icky. But hey, it wasn't so bad after all!

  3. I really hope the management of Baluarte, as well as the tourists, come to realize that they should be more sensitive to the plight of the dwarf horses. The Baluarte offers free carriage rides by the dwarf horses to their detriment. Today, I witnessed a sight of exhausted and wounded dwarfed horses being whipped every 3 seconds so as to carry a load of an average of 3 adults at a quicker pace. Animals are not machines and people should be more aware of this. Attached is a photo of one of the wounded and very exhausted dwarf horses.
